PRAWNS COOKED IN BUTTER MASALA

Simple, an easy and tasty recipe of butter masala prawns cooked in a hot spicy tomato based gravy. It's cooked in butter as the names say. Serve it with naan, chapati or parathas or even a crusty bread.



Serves 4
Time: 30 minutes

500 grams prawns shelled
1 small onion finely chopped
3 cloves garlic minced
2 medium tomatoes finely chopped
Hand full chopped coriander ( stems cut )
1/4 tsp turmeric
1 tsp red chilli powder
5 tbs butter
1 tbs lemon juice
Salt & pepper
Fresh Coriander to garnish


Method

First, marinate the prawns' with pepper, salt and lemon juice.

Prepare masala for the prawns in the meantime. For this, heat the butter and cook onions and garlic on medium heat for five minutes.

Now, add the chopped tomatoes and rest of the ingredients. 

Simmer the tomato gravy till the fat separates. 

Add the prawns in and cover them with the masala and cover with the lid. Cook for five to seven minutes.

Garnish with fresh coriander and serve with naan, chapati or any crusty bread.


TIP: Prawns can be replaced with fish.
