HOT CHOCOLATE WITH MARSHMALLOWS

HOT CHOCOLATE WITH MARSHMALLOWS

This is an easy homemade hot chocolate recipe, at least for me. For a long time, I've been using this single recipe . You can adjust the taste of chocolate accordingly. I like it rich.
I prefer hot chocolate fresh every time, but often, I need it on demand and so I love to make it in large quantity and store it. A small amount can be stored in mason jars and gifted to near and dear ones or even at school for your children, during festive times.

Serve as much as you want to drink
Time as little as possible

2 cups milk powder ( Nido/Safariland/Kenya Highland)

1 cup caster/ icing sugar

1 cup coffee creamer

1 cup chocolate chips ( optional)

1/4 tsp salt

Method

Mix the above ingredients and sieve it well. Store in an airtight jar.

To prepare a cup of hot chocolate, scoop 2 - 3 tbs of the mix in a mug/cup and pour 1 cup of boiling water or half milk and half water. give it a stir and sip it.

For extra bling ( as seen in the picture, it's my son's mug) melt  a few chocolate chips in the microwave. apply on the edges of the mug and dip the mug into sprinkles . Keep it in the fridge to harden. Pour in the chocolate milk and arrange some marshmallows on top. Using a blowtorch caramelise  the marshmallows. In case, you don't have a blowtorch, place the mug under the hot grill in the oven but make sure your cup or mug is oven friendly.
