Baharat spice blend, a middle eastern spice. Many regions in the middle east have their own versions of the spice but this blend has the most of the ingredients. Some add saffron, rosebuds etc. it's very simple to make. Few of the recipes are already on the blog for which I will post the link.
Serving this meal on a rainy day like today was really nice as I cooked the lamb chops on the charcoals while having some family time and keeping ourselves warm with the warmth from the coals.
Serves 4
Time: 35-40 minutes
For the lamb chops
8 lamb chops
2 tbs Baharat spice blend
Salt and pepper
2-3 tbs olive oil
Hummus
Tabouli
Tzatziki sauce
Pita bread
Method
For the lamb chops, mix the spice blend in olive oil and rub into the lamb chops. Keep them aside for about 30 minutes or so to marinade. Grill them on the charcoals or under the broiler. Will take about 3 minutes on each side. Remove and serve hot with the side dishes.
Serve these lamb chops with the tzatziki sauce, tabouli, hummus and pita bread on the side.
