BROCCOLI AND GREEN BEANS STIR FRY IN OYSTER SAUCE

BROCCOLI AND GREEN BEANS STIR FRY IN OYSTER SAUCE

My family loves broccoli and green beans . I think these are the two vegetables that my boys can eat without complaining.  Broccoli is the  healthiest vegetable to include in the diet. This is one of the ways to put on the plate.
You can serve this as a veg side for sweet and sour dishes or just on a bed  of hot rice topped with fried egg and sambal oelek. It doesn't take too long as its just flash in the pan.

Serves 4
Time: 15 minutes

1 head broccoli cut in florets with the tender shoots
1 medium onion cut in medium wedges
2 spring onions cut in 2 inches both green and white parts
1 garlic clove minced
3 tbs oyster sauce
1 tbs light soy sauce
2 tsp corn flour mixed in 4 tbs water
some chilli flakes ( optional)
1 tbs oil + 1 tsp sesame oil

Method

Heat the oil in a wok or in a large pan. When the oil is hot, add the onions, spring oinions, garlic and stir fry for few seconds.

Then add in the broccoli and green beans. stir fry well till the vegetables are just cooked and tender , shouldnt take more 5 to 8 minutes. Pour in the oyster sauce and the cornflour mixture. toss it well to coat the sauce . Serve it at once. It tastes nice when fresh.
