SMOKED SAUSAGES SERVED ON STAMPPOT WITH ONION GRAVY








Serves 2
Time 30 minutes



4 smoked sausages ( pork/chicken/beef/veg)

4 medium potatoes boiled

1 big carrot boiled

1-2 cups baby spinach/ kale/sukumawiki

1 garlic clove minced

2 medium onions thinly sliced

2 tbs butter

1 tbs olive oil

1/4-1/2 cup warm milk

Few dashes of tabasco and Worcestershire sauce

1 tbs plain flour

1 cup stock

Few pickles



Method

Mash the boiled potatoes, carrots and anyone greens together. Mix in butter, milk, garlic and seasoning. Keep it warm.


In another pan, heat the oil and brown the sausages. Remove them aside. Tip in the sliced onions and on medium heat cook them. Add the plain flour and cook it for a minute. Pour in, the stock and stir well so the gravy is not lumpy. Add the sausages to the gravy and cook for few minutes. When almost done, add a dash of Tabasco and Worcestershire sauce.

Serve the sausages on stamppot with pickles on the side.

Tip: Stamppot is a Dutch way of mashed potatoes. You can feel free to add any vegetables of your choice in the potatoes.
