ONE BOWL APPLE CAKE

ONE BOWL APPLE CAKE

One bowl cake recipes are the easiest recipes to work with. Use this normal cake batter with some chopped apples and turn it into dessert cake or to serve with coffee or tea. Any chopped fruit such as pears, sliced bananas, pineapple slices etc can be used instead of apples. Serve it on its own or with whipped cream or ice cream when warm.

Serves 6-8 slices
Time: 40 to 45 minutes

4 apples roughly chopped
1 tsp cinnamon powder
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup yoghurt
3/4 cup caster sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp cinnamon powder
2 cups plain flour
2 tsp baking soda

Method

First, toss the chopped apples in cinnamon powder and keep aside.

Meanwhile, mix oil, yoghurt, sugar and eggs in a bowl and beat well.  In another bowl sieve the flour, baking soda and cinnamon.

Fold the dry ingredients in wet and beat well so no lumps are formed.

Grease a baking can tin. Pour the batter in and arrange the chopped apples on top. Press lightly and tap the cake tin.

Bake in preheated oven at 180'C for 40  minutes till risen and the toothpick comes out clean when inserted.
