SPLIT MUNG DAL PANCAKES

Mung dal is very healthy and nutritious. You can make curries, soups or stews with it by adding root vegetables or meat in it.
There was a cup of extra soaked mung dal left the other day after cooking the dal. I decided to make pancakes with it for the breakfast.  Everyone liked it. I had the leftover maru chutney and I served it with the pancakes while my son had it with the ketchup. Try them. They are actually good for weight loss also.

Makes 6-8 pancakes
Time: 30-35 minutes

1 cup soaked split mung dal
1 small onion chopped
2-3 cloves garlic
2 tbs chopped coriander leaves
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp cumin powder
2 tbs chickpea flour
Salt and pepper
Enough water to make the batter
Oil/ghee for brushing

Method

Add all the ingredients ( except oil/ghee ) in a food processor or in a nutribullet and process till it's in cake batter like consistency.

Ladle the mix on a heated pan and cook 2-3 minutes each side till it is browned and no longer wet. Brush the oil/ghee.

Tip the pancakes on a plate and serve with ketchup, yoghurt or maru chutney on the side.
